British Age Nationals Day 2 Report

While Day 1 of the British Youth Nationals went very well for the Team Alberta swimmers - Day 2 was another story... just starting to struggle with jet lag after a full night's flight to get over the Atlantic Ocean, and then another flight to Manchester and a train ride to Sheffield - the team got off the train and into the pool for a loosen up swim at 8PM Monday night.
Everyone had a very good sleep and a very good Tuesday at the first day's events.
 
Day 2:
Women's 400 free:
Both girls were entered and then seeded with their best short course times, so were next to some very fast swimmers and may have been slightly intimidated...
Deanna was up first and went 4:42.57, Lori went 4:40.54.
 
Men's 100 free:
Chad discovered during his race marshalling that his string for his racing suit could not be found, so ran over and pulled a training suit on top of racing suit and only managed a 57.02.
Karl felt fine, but went too slow to earn a second swim with a 55.37.
 
Men's 1500 free:
Chad came back for a distance session at 1:15pm to swim the 1500 free... seeded in the top heat, he swam well, although a little slow over the first 800m, then came back strong to pass a few competitors and he finished in 7th place overall, with a time of 16:22.87
