Scott Stewart is the Hudsons Athlete of the Week

By: JW - Jan. 27, 2010 Scott Stewart is the Hudsons Athlete of the Week U of A Communications (January 25, 2010) University of Alberta Golden Bear swimmer Scott Stewart is the Hudsons Athlete of the Week, for the week ending January 24, 2010. The freshman swimmer collected three medals at the Canada West swimming championship, including two individual honours and was named the to Canada West All-Star team. Originally from Calgary, Stewart joined the Golden Bears this year as a walk-on and has done nothing but impress since then, and head coach Bill Humby calls the science student his hardest working athlete. This past weekend in Lethbridge at the conference championship, Stewart picked up a silver medal in the menâ€™s 400m free-style race and a bronze in the 100m backstroke. He was also part of Albertaâ€™s gold medal winning team in the 800m free-style relay team. Stewart and the U of A swimming teams, who captured team bronze for the third straight year, head to the CIS championship February 18-20 at the University of Toronto.
